Farm classes
Learn by doing, alongside your neighbors
Every class is hands-on, taught in small groups on working Kaufman County land. Bring your questions and your work gloves. Members attend free; non-members pay per session.
Core tracks
Two skills we teach most

Small-animal processing
Humane meat processing, step by step
Learn the full sequence for poultry and rabbit: handling animals calmly, setting up a clean work station, and processing with sharp, well-kept tools. Sessions cover food safety and what to check at each stage. Practice happens under instructor eyes.
Cultivation and preservation
Grow it, then put it up
Plan a vegetable bed, start seeds, and follow the crop through harvest. Then learn to preserve what you grew: canning, freezing, and drying, with tested methods and clear safety steps. Bring a jar you want to fill.
